The combination of the physicality, narrative and sculpture aspects of book art really appeals to me. As it is meant to be held, the level of attention needed to appreciate my books is the same as one needs in order to read words on a page, though this is a visual language, more subtle than words. Each of the pages are part of the narrative of my interaction with nature and have a direct link to it. The cyanotypes are an alternative photographic process created directly from found natural objects. The monotypes, Gel plate prints and linocut mixed media pieces also all directly tie to my interactions with trees, the soil, and the landscape.
